too much time apart makes it easy to believe that distance makes the heart grow the first love's always a ghost and I get crazed when the spirit's in the room loving anything that can't be nailed down overswollen heart makes it easy to believe you again you again you again no one makes it back that's kind of the point left to love what isn't there but it's near but it's near I get crazed when the spirit's in the room loving anything that can't be nailed down still unfazed at how resistance makes the heart grow fond loving anything that feels like nails

Radar 03:46
Can't can't have that memory around here that surreal feeling in the night waiting at the door hoping the car turns around there's no splitting an atom that surreal feeling of having to have it both ways having to have it both ways can't can't have that memory around here you got what you got so put your radar down stepping out into the night with that surreal feeling in your heart like a brush with danger in red or white splitting down the middle again head down about face again headlights or taillights that's a real feeling of making a big difference having to have it both ways

you can be Charlotte and I'll be Delores we can go on wanting opposite things taking up the same space at the same time I feel like I'm ready to meet your parents I heard they made the world in just six days in all its stark and scary beauty you woke up at the worst possible time you saw something you weren't supposed to see we don't usually let the kids back here it's better to let them sweat it out in the dark to dry them out so you can set them off without a spark do I feel lucky you can be Lucy and I'll be Charlie Brown for the first time in my life you held the football steady taking up the same space at the same time but I feel like I blinked and you moved the goal posts what use was youth for such a brief parade I didn't even get a trophy you woke up at the worst possible time you saw something you weren't supposed to see we don't usually let the kids back here it's better to let them sweat it out in the dark to dry them up so you can set them off without a spark do I feel lucky

it was over so fast that it's like it never happened at all blowing on the last spark the whole rest of your life with nothing to show nothing to show for it a pit where the flame once lit an image gets cold so quick but you don't it got on you so fast and you can't stomach a sudden change making progress second the first thing's holding on you won't let it go you won't let it go you won't let it go so quick your last chance to feel like this a fire you can't resist and you won't you won't nobody burns forever no one who's close gets better go home and sleep together keep tasting the smoke and I'll be thinking well it's gotta go somewhere even if you love it even if you like it

could I learn to love fear I suppose I could precocious lover on the ground make me scream spend the weekend alone I suppose I could don't make me say it don't make me [I know that I'm naive] {anybody could be that guy} I suppose I could don't make me say it don't make me I know it takes time and wasn't I patient my favorite but if I come home and turn the lights out where would the world go precocious lover in the dark in the dark [I know that I'm naive] but I am not sixteen anymore though by your smiling you seem to say so though by your smiling you seem to say so

I can't stop watching T.V. head of a human person but what am I really doing with it spend the moon while they wait at the door what have you done to earn it takes more than good intentions no prize for showing up I was hoping there'd be consequences I was hoping there'd be stone cold truths to face but it doesn't really matter you're gonna be the same you're gonna be the same you reach out like the real thing and I get had so easily any port in a storm don't flatter me drowning in fear they'll cut the rope you can just decide [or can you] I flipped a coin while she had her back turned left with a remainder that doesn't make sense I was hoping it'd be complicated and then it was and I got stuck out in the in-between with numbers on my mind I try it with fresh hope but have the same trouble every time I was hoping there'd be consequences I was hoping there'd be stone cold truths to face but it doesn't really matter you're gonna be the same either way you're gonna be the same love is many a splendored thing but if love is all you have then you're a kitten in the wings if love is all you have then you're sitting duck waiting for the other foot to fall

Speed Reader 03:55
To This Day So Far You remember yourself loosely, the spitting image of, roadside among the evergreens and other old memories— piecing together (tourniquet of nothing) from scratch the scratch we made, stillness in the annum where the resting longing stayed / stillness in the dark among the soon forgotten strays. What loose binding you are (a frame) the self expanding brokenly, new slack out in the rain (dearest me, the time— what use was youth for such a blink?) cloth and ash /hello my/ starving answer written plainly on his face. The sky says jump— informal boy, your time is coming, every slouch continuous (—) from here it’s best to watch; (linger darling now); a kiss is a contract their mouths make, a smile sets the price and the market swoons like vertigo was opium, every loopy fool a victor /while/ reeling groggily (the same thing happens again) the burden (freefall) comes to rest— is?— this the trap I set for you, uncareful footsteps tracing the eye’s desire, when better takers parted ways someone *got* left in the middle. The car still lurches forward now and then; other stranger outshines us all in the passenger seat. My heart aches to be there, and bring form to it, but the passing hours left nothing in their godforsaken wake.

the puzzle of getting older is how to remain sincere while your memories grow long in the tooth I miss a thing I never had too faint of heart to sort the good past from the bad I thought I had more time I thought I had more time
